It's coming down the wire ... all that stands between Rochester and mayoral control of its schools is a vote in the New York Senate.  Have you decided how you feel? If not, why not?

I still haven't made up my mind. I want to believe that mayoral control could really change the culture of the district.  Give it a client (student/parent) focus.  The city does that much better than the district.  However, the cynic in me says the focus would be on test scores and graduation rates.  There would be a huge fuss and distraction and a new scapegoat to blame for why the schools aren't working.

I'm still listening.  I haven't heard how the mayor control folks think they can pull it off.  Especially with a changing mayor...
